Description

Selene-E With Lecithin contains a combination of selenium, vitamin E, and Lecithin delivering potent antioxidant activity. Selenium is an essential trace mineral found in soil and water. Plants and yeast naturally convert selenium into organically bound forms. Selenium works with Vitamin C, Vitamin E and other antioxidants in the body. This product is unconditionally guaranteed for purity, freshness and labeled potency.

Selenium is a trace mineral that is essential to good health but required only in small amounts. Selenium is incorporated into proteins to make selenoproteins, which are important antioxidant enzymes. The antioxidant properties of selenoproteins help prevent cellular damage from free radicals. Free radicals are natural by-products of oxygen metabolism that may contribute to the development of chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Other selenoproteins help regulate thyroid function and play a role in the immune system. Selenomethionine can be incorporated into body proteins in place of methionine, and serves as a vehicle for selenium storage in organs and tissues. Selenium supplements may also contain sodium selenite and sodium selenate, two inorganic forms of selenium. Selenomethionine is generally considered to be the best absorbed and utilized form of selenium.

Lecithin is a term for a group of good fats found in healthy foods such as soybeans or egg yolks. It is found in all cells of the body as a major part of the membrane. When ingested, it acts as an emulsifier, allowing fats and fat-soluble nutrients to mix better with water. This unique blend of selenium and vitamin E are emulsified with lecithin to maximize absorption.

Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, supports the immune system, and is needed for cardiovascular and nervous system health. It is also needed for healthy skin and hair.
