Wild Oregano Oil- No one in America seems to know a great deal about Oil of Wild Oregano. The plant from which Oil of Wild Oregano is derived is entirely different than the oregano which we are familiar.
Oil of Wild Oregano is the essential oil of the wild oregano plant (Oregano Vulgare) which is produced by steam distillation. Oil of Wild Oregano exhibits curative powers superceding anything previously known.
Oil of Wild Oregano's antiseptic properties are many. Nothing else in nature can match it and many pharmaceutical drugs are weaklings when compared to it. Singlehandedly, it can kill and/or block the growth of virtually any fungus (including the ever tenacious Candida) as well as inhibiting the growth of the majority of bacteria (something prescription antibiotics often fail to accomplish). This ability to halt the growth of both bacteria and fungi makes Oil of Wild Oregano unique. Phenols are potent antiseptics. Wild Oregano's phenol, carvacrol, is significantly more potent than the synthetic variety. A second phenolic compound, thymol, is also present in Oil of Wild Oregano. Carvacrol and thymol work synergistically, packing a double punch of antiseptic power. This explains why it is infinitely more potent than commercial phenol in microbial killing. The fact is Oil of Wild Oregano contains over 50 compounds which possess antimicrobial actions.
